Week-end slipware Pottery Courses in rural Brittany

3/4 Juillet ou 18/19 Sept. 2010

Price: 200 € per participant for the week-end

Course plan

Every weekend begins with an informal 3 course meal on the Friday night with locally sourced food, plenty of wine and cider so that every-one on the week-end can get to know each other. Each course has a maximum of 5 participants.

The timetable each day follows a similar pattern starting with demonstrations, which are followed by tuition and making. The emphasis of the week-end is slip techniques and I will provide green ware for decorating.  A combination of frequent demonstrations, practical tips and personal tuition means that even those who have never touched clay before are soon making surprisingly successful pots.  We break at intervals for coffee, lunch and tea.  Formal tuition starts at 9am and ends at about 5pm with an hour’s break for lunch. Students are free to work on for as long as they like.

It is understood that your limited stay may not permit you to complete work you value and would wish to keep. Such work will be carefully documented for completion and saved for a future visit or forwarded by post, bearing in mind the inevitable additional cost.

There is a 2kg clay allowance included in the week-end extra clay will be charged by dried weight before firing 8€ per kilo.
